Since our establishment in 1986, Weathernews has continued to take on the challenges of addressing climate change by innovative solutions to help mitigate weather risks and service support to our customers 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, following our founder's commitment to "help out in times of need."

In recent years, the impact of climate change on the daily lives of people, as well as economic activities of businesses around the globe, has become increasingly severe, as evidenced by the more frequent occurrence of extreme weather and the rising number of natural disasters in many areas around the globe. Responding to climate change and extreme weather is highlighted as perhaps one of the most important themes in our SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) for 2030.

Given these common global goals, as a company specialized in solutions to climate change within its business domain, and in alignment of our philosophy to "help out in times of need", we believe that our mission is to help realize a society in which not only human society and corporate activities but also the global environment is sustained.

In order to realize this, we have set goals that leverage our core competence to contribute to the achievement of the SDGs.

By providing weather information and response measures, we have contributed to ensuring the safety of transport infrastructure, such as roads and railways, and minimizing weather risks such as disaster impact reduction and disaster prevention in people's lives. In the area of ocean weather services, we are working to reduce CO₂ emissions by recommending optimal routes with weather on our side, thereby reducing environmental impact and maximizing corporate profits.

In order to maximize the creation of these values, we will strive for technological innovation to improve forecasting accuracy, strengthen international partnerships, and aim to disseminate and expand in each area through technological capabilities and service creation.
